Bluray Tuesday: Featuring Tragedy Girls, Victor Crowley & Day of The Dead Bloodline

February 6th 2018

A new month brings new blurays to add to our collections, and this week has a wide variety! I'm sure there is something for everyone this week. First up is one of my favorites of last year, Tragedy Girls. This film is really fun and fresh I highly recommend it. It's a good mix of Heathers and Jawbreaker. Adam Green secretly filmed the fourth installment in the Hatchet franchise and if you missed it on the Victor Crowley tour you can finally check it out on Bluray today! It's pretty cheap on Amazon but if you buy it through the Ariescope website your copy will be hand signed by Adam Green himself. Next up is the unnecessary sequel Day of The Dead: Bloodline. There are a few okay moments that could be cool, but I'd recommend a rent on this first. Scream Factory releases Welcome to Willits an indie horror thriller from IFC Midnight. It sounds interesting and is one I look forward to watching this week. Arrow releases The Gruesome Twosome, another title I'd never heard of but I am loving the premise. If you are into the animated DC films, Batman: Gotham by Gaslight hits shelves. These animated films continue to be superior to the live action DC films, I'm not sure what they are getting wrong. Target will release an exclusive steelbook for this title that you can only get in-store and Best Buy will carry their version with an exclusive graphic novel. Rounding our the week is comedy sequel A Bad Mom's Christmas, possession horror Demons (2017), crime thriller Elevator To The Gallows and more. So what will you buy, rent or skip this week? Let us know in the comments. Until next week!

Henri-Georges Clouzot's Inferno: Amazon - $22.99

In 1964, director Henri-Georges Clouzot chose Romy Schneider, age 26, and Serge Reggiani, 42, to star in L'enfer (Inferno), an enigmatic and original project with an unlimited budget. Reggiani was to play Marcel Prieur, the manager of a modest hotel in provincial France who becomes possessed by the demons of jealousy. Intended to be a cinematic event upon its release, three weeks after shooting began on Inferno, things took a turn for the worse. The project was stopped, and the images, which were said to be incredible, would remain unseen...until now. Working closely with Clouzot's widow, Inès, Serge Bromberg reconstructs Clouzot's original vision, filling and explaining the gaps with new interviews, re-enactments and Clouzot's own notes and storyboards.
