Bluray Tuesday!

March 10th 2015

Happy Bluray Tuesday! The films released this week are most i have not seen. Wolfcop is originally to be out May 12th but Best Buy got the rights to have an early exclusive of the film on Bluray and Dvd until it is released everywhere in May. Shout Factory releases a new film called Dark Haul that can be good or bad. Older titles this week are German film The Fan and the 1981 film Don't Go in the Woods. Not a bad week for new Horror Bluray's to add to our collections.

Don't Go in the Woods: Amazon - $14.99

Four young campers, Craig, Peter, Ingrid and Joanie, back-pack through the mountains for a relaxing weekend in the wilderness. They are out camping in broad daylight, while someone else is killing tourists in the woods. Craig warns the others not to go into the woods alone. The hillsides are crawling with fat women huffing up hillsides, nerdy bird-watchers, and young couples. Most of whom meet gruesome ends at the hands of a deranged and growling back-woodsman with a sharp spike - who announces his presence by shaking the nearest branch and whooping.

Wolfcop: Best Buy - $12.99
Only at Best Buy exclusive until May 12th.
As a series of strange and violent events start happening, an alcoholic policeman realizes that he has been turned into a werewolf as part of a larger plan, so he investigates with the help of his partner and his friend.
Wolfcop looks cool to me i know some residents of the Overlook have seen this and i have heard good things. I will be at Best buy to get my copy for sure.

Wolfcop (Blu-ray)

The Fan: Amazon - $17.99

The hero-worship that Simone has for a pop singer is built to a crescendo until she passes out when she finally sees him up-close in a crowd of fans pushing him for autographs. She is later shocked when he lets her know that he does not love her. In an instant, she is caught "in a trance" and feels a murderous urge that is bigger than the both of them.
Interesting synopsis for this film it was originally out in 1982 and originally titled Der Fan. This is a German film with English subtitles. I may check this out soon and hopefully we can review this in the near future.

The Fan (Blu-ray)

Late Phases: Amazon - $9.99

Ambrose McKinley, a cantankerous blind vet, moves into a retirement community only to learn the residents there have been dying, not from old age, but from dog attacks. After surviving his own encounter with a canine one night, Ambrose comes to believe the assailants are much more than mere dogs.
We screened this awhile back and Late Phases is a enjoyable werewolf flick and for under $10 I highly recommend checking this one and and blind buying.

Late Phases: Night of the Lone Wolf (Blu-ray)

Dark Haul: Amazon - $15.87

The meaning of cryptic prophesy splits apart a team of secretive guardians as they transport by 18-wheeler truck, a deadly creature and its half-human sister from their now ineffective holding place to a more secure location. The sister's hidden agenda undermines the mission releasing the beast and they end up battling for the fate of the world when the true meaning of the prophesy is discovered in this mysterious and thrilling, action-packed creature feature.
Shout Factory's latest release this week. I have not heard anything about this film and not sure what to expect but would be cool to chill one night and screen it with a group and see how it is.
