Welcome back for your weekly dose of comic books! The first two weeks this month were overflowing with great releases so it was only a matter of time before things slowed down. I’ve done a bit of digging and found some books worth your dollar. This week we also get a look at two new books entering the duel review so read on to see what they are!
Adventure Time 2016 Spooktacular #1 (BOOM!)
First off this week is something a bit more light-hearted than usual. On the surface, Adventure Time is all about the kids but if you give it some time you’ll uncover a deep and engaging story for any RPG and Adventure fan. Not that any of us need a push to get in the Halloween spirit but this week BOOM! releases their Halloween special that is sure to be a funny way to hold us over.
Aliens: Life and Death #1 (Dark Horse)
The next chapter in the Life and Death saga is upon us! I’m a bit more excited for this chapter as its focus is on the Xenomorphs. If you aren’t familiar with the work of Dan Abnett, you don’t have to reach very far to find something worthy of your time and this week’s release of Aliens: Life and Death is sure to be another great read.
Seven to Eternity #1 (Image)
Rick Remender is a name that you should get familiar with if you aren’t already. Remender is one of the best writers in the industry and his new title Seven to Eternity sees long time collaborator Jerome Opena in charge of the art with Matt Hollingsworth on colors.

It’s hard to keep a lot of these hero books fresh especially for some whose history spans all the way back to the 40's. It’s not uncommon for publishers to reboot a series and universe changing events are becoming more common as well. The most recent universe altering event came in the form of DC Rebirth. There’s one DC book that I will pick up until I die and that title is Green Lantern. This was a book that desperately needed a change and when it came, it was a glorious day.
Green Lanterns #7
The change came in the form of Green Lanterns, which had an all new creative team and two all new Lanterns. This book focuses on two rookie Lanterns that have been partnered together while each one struggles to understand what it truly means to be a Green Lantern. Naturally, they are thrust into a terrible event that threatens the earth. This is a great new series and a refreshing take on the Green Lantern story, don’t be afraid to check it out.

We’re back once again with two new books taking each other on in this weeks duel review! This week Locke & Key will be going against Harrow County. Let's take a closer look at these two books.
