It is the weekend of VOD releases here in the bay area, but luckily they have not squeezed out the theatrical ones all together! Stephen King's The Dark Tower is easily the biggest release today, but if you ask me The Untamed is much more exciting. Its first screening is tonight at 7pm and will be followed by a Skype Q&A with the director. And we have a new addition to the VOD releases coming out today which we found out about from the guest of the 50th episode of The Overlook Hour. 68 Kill is a dark comedy written by Trent Haaga (Dead Girl, Cheap Thrills) and has definitely piqued my interest!

The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O'Dim, also known as the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey), determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.

Now he's got a gun in his hand, a girl in his trunk and less than 24 hours to figure his way out of this mess. A punk-rock romantic comedy for our jagged times.

They delve deeper into the story, but aren't prepared for the terror that awaits them. Bev Land directed this horror film, which co-stars Dania Ramirez, Gail O'Grady, and Rebekah Graf.

A team of special forces soldiers approach the designer of a high-tech military compound to investigate the disappearance of another team guarding the facility. The compound, known professionally as a Temple, is an artificial intelligence powered facility designed for interrogating high level prisoners. Upon entering the Temple, the soldiers quickly find the earlier team horrifically slaughtered but no evidence as to who is responsible. Almost immediately, the crew begins to experience strange and horrific supernatural phenomena as they attempt to uncover who killed the previous team. Soon enough, they find a lone survivor, a dangerous terrorist who may hold the key to who killed the soldiers. But as the story goes on, we'll learn that there's more to it than we've been told and a dark secret the soldiers share may hold the key to surviving The Temple.

In this animated feature by noted Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki, 10-year-old Chihiro (Rumi Hiiragi) and her parents (Takashi Naitô, Yasuko Sawaguchi) stumble upon a seemingly abandoned amusement park. After her mother and father are turned into giant pigs, Chihiro meets the mysterious Haku (Miyu Irino), who explains that the park is a resort for supernatural beings who need a break from their time spent in the earthly realm, and that she must work there to free herself and her parents.
