Tom Malloy is a down to earth film maker and actor who, according to IMDB, is known for The Alphabet Killer (2008), Love 'n Dancing (2009), and The Attic (2007), but we know him better for one of his latest features, #Screamers. And in episode 21 of The Overlook Hour, he goes into just about everything you could want to know about the movie, short of actually watching it, and that includes the story behind the title, the casting, and the actual filming. #Screamers is the latest addition to the indie found footage that has completely blew the Overlook creatures away (even KillDozer!) and after listening to this episode, it's hard to deny that a lot of its success comes from Tom's passion for horror. He is a horror nerd and proud of it, and he knows his stuff.
Since #Screamers is not out yet, here's a trailer to give you a feel for the characters. The film is still making some festival runs and they are looking for distribution, so we'll have to be patient. But when it finally does come out, we'll be sure to let you guys know!
Aside from #Screamers, Tom also get into his book about financing films, upcoming projects, his distribution company, and a film he just finished with Ray Wise. And of course, the he'll touch on some recent horror movies he loved (and didn't).
