Screenings in the Bay (Monday to Sunday): Overlord, Death House, The Wild Pussycat & Punk Metal Flea Market

This week we're in for two new titles (sort of), two mini film festivals, a sleazy pick introduced by a professional, and a flea market!

Overlord is the big new movie coming out this week, with early screenings this Thursday. It's being joined by a film I've almost given up hope of ever seeing; Death House! Apparently, it hit limited theatres months ago and is now making its way onto VOD for the rest of the non-LA work to see it. The iconic roster of this film is legendary and it was co-written by Gunnar Hansen, so my eyes definitely widened when I saw this name finally come up.

On Wednesday, the Alamo Drafthouse welcomes Joel Shepard, a man with an extensive collection and encyclopedic knowledge of sleaze, to the stage to introduce The Wild Pussycat for Weird Wednesday. This isn't a film you'll get to see too often on the big screen, so stay up and learn something about the smutty side of film history.

Then on Sunday, the Savage People's third annual Punk Metal Flea Market returns to the bay area and we will be there manning the Overlook Theatre/Overlook Hour/Unnamed Footage Festival table! Come by and talk found footage horror or indie movies with us :)  You'll get to check out a gaggle of DIY artists and hear some live music too. A solid way to spend a Sunday if you ask me.

Following the screening, there will be an After Party in the theatre mezzanine where we’ll be toasting the filmmakers, mingling, talking about our next projects, and announcing the winners! We’d love to see you there! Be sure to purchase a Festival Pass if you’d like to attend the party.
