July 25th 2017
The last Bluray Tuesday of July arrives. This week has a nice mix of classic and new films hitting shelves, as well as a few coming to bluray for the first time. Arrow Video releases a cool digibook remastered version of Re-Animator that is definitely worth a double dip. Much better release than the bare-bones version released a few years back that you can probably still find in Best Buy's 5.99 bin. Vestron Video continues growing its collectors edition line with the addition of its 11th title, The Warlock Collection, which includes all 4 Warlock films. I think I've only seen part one when I was younger. Or it was the second one? Not sure, but all that will change this week. For the first time on Bluray is The Stendhal Syndrome from Blue Underground. This is another interesting one I plan to check out in the near future. Also for the first time on Bluray is The Zodiac Killer (1971). This recently played at our Alamo Drafthouse as a Weird Wednesday and a few Overlook creatures checked it out. On to the new releases out today, the first being the live action remake Ghost in the Shell. Ghost in the Shell will have exclusive steelbook editions only at Best Buy. They are available in both standard bluray steelbooks and 4K Ultra HD steelbooks. So what will you be adding to your collections this week? Let us know in the comments. Until next week!
