Happy Monday everyone! We have a big week ahead of us, with lots of very anticipated events finally taking place. The one I'm personally the most excited for is the release of Blair Witch, a sequel to the iconic 1999 The Blair Witch Project. This movie has a limited release this Friday, with early screenings starting Thursday. For now, we only have two theatres showing Blair Witch on their calendar, but I'm sure more theatres will add it soon, especially with October right around the corner. (Members of the Alamo Drafthouse's Victory rewards program will also be able to see it this Wednesday if they checked their email...)
This week will mark the end of the screenings of the Polish TV series The Dekalog at the Drafthouse but it will also mark the beginning of the The Future Was Here screenings at the Roxie Theatre, which include several big named sci-fi anime movies. This fest will run through the weekend and into next week, but don't wait to get tickets because these will probably be some very packed shows.
