Screenings in the Bay (Friday to Monday): A Cure for Wellness, XX, The Autopsy of Jane Doe

How are you guys enjoying this rain? I'm loving it! It's just about the best weather to enjoy some great movie in, particularly horror. And this weekend has some good options. ☺
Today is the official opening for the new movie A Cure for Wellness, which doesn't sound like pure horror but definitely qualifies for a trip to the theatre. This movie was recently under the public eye, not because of its impending release, but for a very different reason. Seems like a viral marketing campaign the was not executed in the best way... Read about it here. It's also got a two and a half hour run time, which may or may not be an appealing thing.
Also today, The Lure is unleashed on the Roxie Theatre. It will be playing there for about two weeks, so if you can't make it out the weekend you will have more chances to catch this one.
And finally, if you're closer to the east bay, you should check out the New Parkway Theatre's lineup for the weekend. They're bringing out some big titles, both new and known.

Patrick Bateman is young, white, beautiful, ivy leagued, and indistinguishable from his Wall Street colleagues. Shielded by conformity, privilege, and wealth, Bateman is also the ultimate serial killer, roaming freely and fearlessly. His murderous impulses are fueled by zealous materialism and piercing envy when he discovers someone else has acquired more than he has. After a colleague presents a business card superior in ink and paper to his, Bateman's blood thirst sharpens, and he steps up his homicidal activities to a frenzied pitch. Hatchets fly, butcher knives chop, chainsaws rip, and surgical instruments mutilate-how far will Bateman go? How much can he get away with?

It's just another night at the morgue for a father (Brian Cox) and son (Emile Hirsch) team of coroners, until an unidentified, highly unusual corpse comes in. Discovered buried in the basement of the home of a brutally murdered family, the young Jane Doe-eerily well preserved and with no visible signs of trauma-is shrouded in mystery. As they work into the night to piece together the cause of her death, the two men begin to uncover the disturbing secrets of her life. Soon, a series of terrifying events make it clear: this Jane Doe may not be dead. The latest from Trollhunter director Andre Ovredal is a scarily unpredictable, supernatural shocker that never lets up.
