Screenings in the Bay (Monday to Friday)

We've got a full week of screenings ahead of us! This Thursday is the opening of The Lobster, which will be playing at only a couple of theatres. Also on Thursday, the Castro Theatre will be screening a Shot in San Francisco double feature, with two awesome sounding horror films. Read on to see what else is playing this week!

Tuesday 17th @ 6pm
"Groundbreaking for its unmitigated and violent realism, it tells the tragic story of a doomed romance between a lowly shepherd and his landlord's daughter in an oppressive village in rural Greece. An explosive representation of the ways in which close minded families, hypocritical religious doctrine and dangerously destructive class differences all lead to deadly extremes. A disturbing political allegory, THE SHEPHERDS OF DISASTER was banned by the dictatorial Greek government after being filmed in 1966 but today its revolutionary aesthetics and fearless condemnation of a corrupt society are counted among the greatest triumphs of Greek cinema."
