Bluray Tuesday: Featuring Phantasm RaVager, The Devil's Dolls and Jason Bourne

December 6th 2016

The first Bluray Tuesday of December is here. This month is filled with many awesome releases to add to our growing collections, as well as some great potential gifts for this holiday season. The remastered version of classic film Phantasm is released today as well as the long awaited sequel in the Phantasm series Phantasm RaVager. Scream Factory releases The Devil's Dolls, formally known as The Worry Dolls. That's what it was called when I saw this film earlier this year. It's not the best film but has some interesting plot points. Nothing I'd rush to pick up day one though. The sequel to last year's live action adaption of the popular video game Dead Rising hits stores titled Dead Rising Endgame. I kinda wish this was a better film, I actually enjoyed the first one but this sequel was extremely boring and I'd recommend a rent on it first. I will say it's interesting that this gets a Bluray release and the original only received a DVD copy. On to the bigger releases of the week is family film The Secret Life of Pets and Target will carry a steelbook packaging for this title. The Fifth film in the Bourne series, Jason Bourne is the second biggest release today and Best Buy will carry an exclusive 4K steelbook. It's nice this gets a steel since I own the other 4 in the series in steelbook form as well. If you are into bonus material, Target will carry its version with a exclusive bonus disc. Last but not least I wanted to highlight Scream Queens the complete first season this week which is getting a release. Sadly it's not on Bluray but a dvd release is better than nothing. Now you can relive all 13 episodes uninterrupted. Season 2 is still airing now on FOX and I'm a few episodes behind will need to catch up soon. So what will you be buying, renting or skipping this week? Let us know in the comments! Until next week.
