Bluray Tuesday: Featuring Jack Frost, Black Christmas, Morgan and Suicide Squad

December 13th 2016

Our favorite day of the week returns. With Christmas just days away, this week we get some festive slashers to add to our collections. Vinegar Syndrome releases 1997's Jack Frost for the first time on bluray and if you order from their official website you can get your copy with a limited edition lenticular slip cover that is pretty epic in person. There are only 3,000 limited slip editions made so they won't last long. Scream Factory is releasing a few indie  titles that seem promising. First up is Shelley which seems similar to Rosemary's Baby, followed by killer virtual reality children film titled Let's Be Evil and the one I'm most interested in, I'm Not a Serial Killer. The biggest release from Scream Factory this week is 1974's cult classic Black Christmas. I personally love this movie and watch it every holiday season. Last year's Canadian release of this was really cool and with a new scan and new features, I may have to double dip on this soon. Sci-Fi thriller Morgan hits shelves today. I missed this in theaters and have heard mixed reviews but will check out for myself in the near future. The biggest release this week is DC Comics Suicide Squad, with several retailer exclusives. Best Buy will carry not one but two exclusive versions of this film. First up is a 4K Steelbook and second is a graphic novel with film included. Target is keeping up with the DC digibooks to match previous DC titles with awesome lenticular covering. The last and most pricey exclusive comes from Amazon and includes a statue figurine with the extended version of the Bluray and DVD copies. Big week for releases this week. What will you be buying, renting, skipping or adding to your Christmas lists this week? Let us know in the comments.
