It's the first Bluray Tuesday of October and there are tons of collection worthy horror films released today! First up is the 7th film in the Child's Play series titled Cult of Chucky, aka Chucky 7. Cult of Chucky takes a huge turn for the series and I still don't completely know how I feel about it. I will be re-watching it this week to hopefully get a better understanding and feeling about this sequel. I will say I can see there being multiple sequels with this slight new change. A24 this week releases highly reviewed A Ghost Story. I've been wanting to see this since its theatrical run that I sadly missed. I know its cover is a bit misleading and I'm going into this knowing it isn't a horror film, unlike Nothing Comes at Night which upset me during my first time watching. Robert Englund directed horror film 976-EVIL hits Bluray for the first time today. Blind buy for me on this one but it's Robert Englund and the premise sounds cool. Buffy The Vampire Slayer, the movie that started it all, recently has its 25th anniversary and the Bluray is being re-released with a digital copy attached. Another anniversary Bluray this week is the late great George A. Romero's Night of The Living Dead, which is a 50th anniversary Bluray. Arrow Video releases Don't Torture a Duckling for the first time on bluray as well as Children of The Corn with new bonus material. Scream Factory releases recent film The Survivalist and home invasion horror Jackals. Non horror film this week is Disney's Pirates of The Caribbean 5. The retailer exclusives for Pirates 5 are bonus content at Target and steelbook packaging at Best Buy. So what will you be buying, renting or skip this week? Let us know in the comments. control the situation, but when the reanimated bodies surround the
house, the other survivors begin to panic. As any
semblance of order within the group begins to dissipate, the zombies
start to find ways inside -- and one by one, the living humans become
the prey of the deceased ones.

The Survivalist: Amazon - $18.99
The story of a man in a time of starvation, living off the grid since
before the grid went down. Growing food on a small farm hidden deep in a
forest, he protects his land from thieves and foragers with man traps
and a shotgun. But the long years alone have taken their toll on him,
and he is beginning to lose his grip on reality. His isolation is broken
by two visitors; Kathryn and her teenage daughter, Milja. They are
starving and desperate for food. Initially reluctant to share any, he
relents when they offer a night with Milja. The exchange becomes an
uneasy ongoing arrangement; as Kathryn schemes to take control of the
farm, and the Survivalist finds his feelings growing for her daughter.
When the farm comes under attack from outsiders, they find they must
work together to survive, developing loyalties which will be tested when
food runs short.

There's a power-mad space slug slithering among (and through) the
innocent citizens of L.A., and it's up to a hardboiled cop and a
detective from way up north to stop it in this wonderfully
straight-faced sci-fi action flick.

global sharknado, Fin and his family must travel around the world to
stop them.
Children of The Corn: Amazon - $25.99
Young lovers on a cross-country trip stop in a small Nebraska community and make a shocking
discovery. One day, three years prior to the couples' arrival, the town's children killed all of the
grown-ups at the apparent behest of a demon simply dubbed "He Who Walks Behind the
Rows." Based on a short story from horror scribe Stephen King's "Night Shift" collection, this
film spawned a slew of bloody sequels.

Set in the 1980s, an estranged family hires a cult deprogrammer to take
back their teenage son from a murderous cult, but find themselves under
siege when the cultists surround their cabin, demanding the boy back.

A group of film students plan an all-night horror film festival in order
to raise funds for their cinema club. They decide to show a number of
(fictional) horror films from the 1950's that rely on gimmicks such as

group, a homicidal maniac is stalking the theater where the festival is
being held. A filmmaker named Lanyard Gates, who murdered his family
during a screening of his only film in the 1970's, supplies the decoy
killer character, since young Maggie may or may not be his missing
daughter.
