With a new week come new Blurays to add to our collections. First up this week we have Universal Monsters reboot The Mummy starring Tom Cruise. Yea, I'm cringing too as I write this. The Mummy is first of many reboots of the original Universal Monsters films but I'm hoping the next ones are a bit better. While it's not the best remake, a few retailers will still have exclusive editions. Target has a cool looking steelbook that I will probably be tempted to snag this week and Best Buy will carry a digi-book edition with a graphic novel. A24's misleading It Comes at Night hits shelves today. If you missed our early screening review check it out here. I want to give this another try. Going into it knowing it's not a "horror" film may change my initial review a bit. Overall it was a well shot and acted film none the less. Indie horror thrill The Hatred also arrives in stores. The Hatred was not too bad, I saw a few weeks ago and I didn't hate or love it but I'd say give it a rent before you choose to buy. Scream Factory releases The Resurrected for the first time on Bluray with a few new bonus features. Rounding out this week is Best Buy exclusive steelbooks of the original Universal Monsters films with really cool slip covers and artwork from Alex Ross. So what will you be buying, renting or skipping this week? Let us know. It's also Son of Monsterpalooza this weekend and myself and a few Overlook creatures will be there this weekend. If you see us say hi! Until next week!
