Bluray Tuesday Featuring: The Possession of Hannah Grace, Next of Kin & Willard

The last Bluray Tuesday of February has arrived. First up is the pretty girl ghost story The Possession of Hannah Grace. This one is a solid film not the best of its sub genre. A fun watch biy I'd recommend renting it first. Scream Factory releases Willard for the first time on Bluray with a new scan and bonus features. Rodents creep me out so I'll probably sit this one out. I've seen this when it was first released and I think that's enough for me. Severin Films this week releases Next of Kin, which sounds interesting and I'm looking forward to checking out. Disney is making bank this week with 3 releases landing on the same day. It starts with the Wreck it Ralph sequel, Ralph Breaks The Internet. Next up is the 30th anniversay of The Little Mermaid in a new 4K restored release. Both of these will have a Best Buy steelbooks and Target exclusive steelbooks. The last Disney release is Marvel Studio's Captain America: The First Avenger re released in 4K with an exclusive steelbook only at Best Buy. Rounding out the week are various horror films from Vinegar Syndrome all with new scans, the Legally Blonde Collection, Nicolas Cage's new action thriller Between Worlds and foreign action horror Rampant. Bluray Tuesday Featuring: Overlord, A Star Is Born, & Skinner

Bluray Tuesday creeps up on us once more. First up is one that surprised me last year, Overlord. I went into it not expecting much and I left the theater loving this one! So definitely adding to my collection this week. Next up is another non-horror film favorite of last year, A Star Is Born. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper are pretty much perfect in this remake and I really enjoyed the soundtrack. Best Buy will carry an exclusive steelbook of this release and Target an exclusive slipcover with new art and bonus material. Severin Films this week releases early 90's slasher Skinner for the first time on Bluray. I've never heard of this one but looking forward to it. Rounding out this week is another remake, Robin Hood. We're mere days away from the second annual Unnamed Footage Festival and we're extremely excited about this year's lineup! UFF has grown so much in its short lifespan, and this year we will be having an opening night screening of last year's winner along with drinks and shmoozing Thursday night at the Artist's Television Access on Valencia Street. Then it's two solid days of found footage horror, faux documentary, and POV cinema at the Balboa Theatre!

These tapes contain raw, unedited footage shot by two young students concerning the local legend, Peeping Tom. The already heavy atmosphere is then peppered with strange occurrences that none of the women can explain, while they are each developing a vastly different relationship with the lake. Two decades ago three young filmmakers went into the woods to investigate a legend, and all that came back were a few reels of film. Was it real? At first, no one was sure. To maintain believability, the actors weren’t provided a script, merely a directive: keep filming. The filmmakers staged the horrors around them, and the actors had no idea what to expect. This documentation of real fear is what elevated THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT from another supernatural horror to the groundbreaking work that inspired hundreds of filmmakers to experiment in this style themselves. UFF is honored to be presenting this 20th anniversary screening of the watershed film that brought found footage horror to the mainstream. - MK

Mixing the upbeat vibe of an overproduced vlog with the narrative stylings of UNFRIENDED, FOLLOWED will please both casual and serious Found Footage horror fans. - RF
